It’s that time of year again… Voodou Training’s Annual Hair Competition and this year we’re have an exciting and creative Twisted Circus theme.

We want this year’s entries to be as weird and wonderful as possible, so as well as a complimenting costume and make-up we’ve allowed optional fairy lights, body paint and even hair ornamentation if you wish– unfortunately no live animals are allowed to accompany your models!

A big gang of us attended the recent Pro Hair Live show in Manchester. It’s a great place to see the latest up and coming styles, trends and techniques hitting the UK Hairdressing and Barbering market and at Voodou we are committed to staying top of our game when it comes to all things hair. Imagine our surprise then when we attended the ‘Up Close and Personal Live with Andrew Collinge seminar’ to not only get a nod, a smile and wave from the chap himself but when asked about Liverpool he replied “We’re very privileged at Andrew Collinge to share Bold Street in Liverpool with a fantastic Hairdressers and Barbers – Voodou”. What a lovely compliment!

It was a brilliant day for us all which opened our eyes to some new cutting edge techniques and products out there. We attended seminars from some of the world’s leading voices in Hairdressing and Business and watched inspirational hair shows which fired us all up and got our creative minds working overtime for our next big event.

With Mother’s Day tomorrow we’re looking at celebrity mums and what they’re doing to stay gorgeous! Juggling children and a career is stressful for any mum but these women take all that in their stride and still manage to stay looking fabulous for the cameras.

New mum Beyonce looked amazing throughout her entire pregnancy and has been snapped a few times this week with two-month-old baby Blue Ivy looking as fashionable as ever. Most recently her and husband Jay-Z have been seen strolling around New York with the adorable new addition to their family. Beyonce’s gorgeous locks always look effortless showing that even with a baby to now take care of she is still taking pride in her appearance and looking as stunning as always.

Coleen Rooney, mother to two-year-old Kai, is celebrated as one of the most stylish ‘WAGS’ in the country. The fashion designer turned model has always been recognised for her style, hard-working attitude and love for her family.

Congratulations to The Saturday’s Una Healy who gave birth to a baby girl this week; with England rugby star Ben Foden announcing the arrival of Aoife Belle on Twitter. The news came followed by an array of messages from Una’s band mates who were quick to send their congratulations to the happy couple. As one fifth of The Saturday’s, Una’s fashion is constantly praised by magazines and it isn’t hard to see why as the Irish beauty always looks amazing. We’re sure she will carry her style on to motherhood and can not wait to see photos of little Aoife! 

As one of the best loved characters in TOWIE, former playboy bunny Chloe Sims has been nominated for Foxy Bingo’s Celeb Mum Of The Year 2012. If you missed the first episode of this new series our very own Voodou big boss Rob and Creative Director Ryan were guest judges at the very first Traveller Beauty Pageant. So, we were poised with the camera at the screen ready to get photographic proof of them on the programme:

They were very professional and diplomatic, giving their humble opinions and crowning the overall winner.

This came about through client and friend of Voodou, Thelma. You may remember she designed our amazing hair dress and since then we’ve become involved in a couple of projects together.

Thelma’s memoirs are now available in print for she has written her much anticipated book ‘Tales of the Gypsy Dressmaker’.
