Spring Colour Trends

The warmer months are approaching and we’re all looking forward to long weekends spent relaxing in the sunshine, Pimms in hand, working on our tans. Okay, maybe that’s a little optimistic; it’s more likely we’ll be huddling under a brolly, hoping the rain doesn’t streak our false tan and moaning about the not-so-Great British weather.

Don’t worry though, there’s no need for your hair to be as dull and gloomy as the August bank holiday weekend because Voodou have put together their top Spring Summer Hair Colour Trends for 2013 and are offering half price hair colour every Thursday and Sunday.

Dip Dye Hair

Think you’ve seen the last of this style? Think again, because this is one trend that will still be going strong for Spring/Summer 2013. Rightfully so, as this low maintenance look goes perfectly with those pretty beach waves and pared-down summer styles. You won’t blend into the crowd either, as there are plenty of opportunities to make this hair colour your own.

Pastels

Bold, crazy hair colours are becoming increasingly en vogue thanks to celebrities like Katy Perry, Rihanna and even the previously demure Miley Cyrus ditching conventional hair colour in favour of something a little more eye-catching. Unfortunately, most of us can’t turn up to work sporting a neon pink bob so this summer’s hair trend is just the ticket; subtle streaks of springtime colour or all-over pastel hues à la Lady Gaga. Voodou stock Directions vegetable dyes which come in a variety of vibrant shades that can be washed out easily if you’re not ready for a big commitment.

 Blonde

When we say blonde, we really mean BLONDE. Gone are the days of brassy yellow highlights, offset by murky roots as blondes have really come into their own this season with the catwalks full of striking, silver shades. This streamlined, futuristic colour looks equally as good with soft, tousled waves or a more precise, angular cut. Whilst this is a truly outstanding look it’s certainly not for everyone and those with a warmer complexion should opt for a silky, honey blonde to complement their skin tone.

 Bronde

They say blondes have more fun, but don’t brunettes do it better? Get the best of both worlds with this hot new shade for 2013: the ‘bronde’. It’s that unidentifiable hue between brown and blonde that some people insist is brown whilst others swear vehemently is dark blonde but at Voodou we know better; it’s a whole shade of its own and deserves such attention. Bronde is an ideal colour for this season because you get the lovely sun kissed look of blonde highlights whilst still maintaining a natural image and because it’s a very neutral colour this look will suit just about everyone.
