Hayley has done a perfect job every time. She is great at communicating and is so easy to work with. She gives advice and know what's works best for your hair. As an autistic, I find salons quite overwhelming but voodou is so chilled and laid back, and I don't worry about not being chatty, or not knowing about different things, you get exactly the experience you want/need

I went to Hayley for a calico hair colour and she was incredible! I booked a consultation first as I’d never bleached my hair before, and wanted advice on what would suit me and have time to speak through my jumbled ideas to form a plan. Hayley explained everything, boosted my confidence and I have come out with perfectly dyed calico hair and a styled hair cut that has made me more confident than I could imagine! I would definitely recommend and I’ve joined the colour club to become a consistent client 🧡

Ahh I’m obsessed!!! I was super nervous coming in for my hair to be cut. This was only my 3rd time going to a salon (It’s been over 10 years since I’ve last been in a salon) Hayley was just fab right from the word go, she made me feel at ease and my nerves settled quickly. Omg, I'm Luna and I'm 10 and I also give Hayley a 10 out of 10. I love my new hair!! Hayley is the best stylist ever. She gave me a cool side undercut with a cute wave and a heart design! It made me feel super punk and unique. The wave makes my hair look fun and the heart is just perfect. Hayley was so nice and listened to exactly what I wanted and listened to me not my mum. I just had my hair cut by Maeve, lovely ambience very friendly and had a private room for hijabis like myself. Wonderful experience and haircut was exactly what I wanted will definitely be back 🥰 Update: I returned 3 times since then and had my colour done by Hayley which lasted for over a year, and the growth blended so smoothly which I had asked for since I wanted something low maintenance but never expected it to be so good! So seamless even Chloe complemented it both times she cut my hair after the colour. So I also got my hair cute with Chloe and I just have to say the vibes are amazing, the cut is amazing, and I always am happy when I get out so I highly recommend. Voodou is the only hair salon I would trust with my hair in the UK. Love this place! Again I wear a headscarf (hijab) so the place in the basement is a lifesaver.
I’ve been going to Voodou since before they moved to Bold Street. Hayley is reliable and always on time. There’s a great atmosphere, it’s always good craic. I usually just a get a men’s haircut but I’ve gotten a perm here before and been really satisfied with the result. Would recommend.

My first time at Voodoo and first time getting a men’s perm. Holly was great, explained all the different options available and was honest with how it will look and how long it would last. Holly also explained all after care required. I was super happy with the result and I loved Holly’s enthusiasm, she genuinely seemed happy with the result. I would also like to say how easy it was to book in, I was a bit confused with the information online so decided to call. Within 2 minutes I had all the information I needed and was booked in the next day. I would definitely return and also would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of getting perm.

I've never felt so at ease in a salon ever! As a creature of Habit I just had my hair shaved for years but after a breakup and wanting to glow up I sought the help of achieving a new style with Voodou Hair and every staff member from the front desk to the styling team have been absolutely brilliant. You're welcomed with a smile and offered refreshment then you receive a hair wash and mini head massage before you sit in the styling chair and your stylist will go through all available options to help you achieve the style and cut you desire. I've been and had my cut today to start my new style with Holly and she was fabulous her knowledge of hair care was second to none and she has assisted me to get the style I want and how to keep it looking perfect with after care tips and products. I look forward to returning in 6 weeks for my highlights and then being a regular customer of Voodou to help with the upkeep of my new hair doo. Exceptionally happy. As a neurodivergent person who struggles with haircuts, I felt extremely accommodated and understood. My hair was washed, cut, and styled by Grace, who did an incredible job. I was given a quiet space in the basement where I felt more comfortable and received great communication throughout the service. I’d definitely recommend this place, and Grace, to anyone who finds haircuts challenging or who may need somewhere quieter/more relaxed to get their hair done. 10/10!

Im really really pleased with the results of my hair! Not only that but I just enjoyed the whole process from start to finish. Lucy took good care of me, and was great at accommodating me as a neurodivergent individual. She made me feel super comfortable and kept checking in with me to see if there was anything I needed, or if I needed to move to a private room downstairs, where it wouldn’t be so overwhelming for me. I didn’t expect my hair to look this good, as it was in a really bad condition when I got to the salon. It’s super blonde, healthy and the cut is perfect. I’m super happy

The best experience a first time extension wearer could ask for. Frankie talked me through the whole process and answered any questions i had clearly and thoroughly which was a great comfort and help. All the staff in the salon were beyond friendly and it was an all round amazing service.
I’ve had the best experience, I booked a consultation with Frankie for a curly perm and she was amazing , because I have bleached hair she kindly told me that is not gonna be possible until the bleached is gone completely, I like the fact that she did not beat around the bush or sweet talk me into other services that my hair did not need . She is amazing at explaining step by step the whole process, giving directions and helping a clueless diy girly . I damaged my hair really bad with bleach and she was amazing at helping me fixing my mistakes and even recommended products for my hair based on what I needed . If you get the chance to book with her , PLEASE DO!!!

Frankie was amazing doing my hair, it was just what I asked for and was very stylish for me going to the euros with England representing my country. With me being blind, she was amazing at showing me what she was going to do and going through a step-by-step process of doing everything. She would talk me through what she was doing next and was really friendly and chatty. The whole salon made me feel welcome and was a great vibe even when speaking to the other salon workers. A reason why I am giving Frankie a five star review is due to her impeccable styling and the design of my hair but also for her fantastic customer service And I will definitely be going back in the future.

Had an appointment for a color, cut, and nourishing treatment with Frankie. I have especially thick and textured hair that is hard to manage. It’s easily the happiest I have ever been with my hair! Nobody has cut my hair the way I wanted before, and the color came out exactly as I wanted right on the first try. Came here after a lot of searching for the right place to have a hair system fitted since I've been dealing with alopecia for 15 years. From the initial phone call to get booked in for a consult to actually getting the system the experience has been great. Frankie fitted my system for me, we had a consult first where we color matched to my hair and she made sure to walk me through what the process would be and made sure I was comfortable before going ahead. Had it fitted today and what could be a daunting thing turned out not to be, all my questions were answered, nothing felt rushed, and every step was explained with the reason for doing it. Came here to get extensions fitted for the first time and I could not recommend more. The whole process was so easy I was able to order the hair through them after my consultation appointment and book in a few weeks later. Frankie was so amazing throughout both appointments, she was so helpful during the consultation to get me exactly what I wanted. My hair originally had years worth of black box dye and she was able to lift it to a gorgeous brown and I had 20 inches of weft extensions fitted. I've been going to Frankie for barbering since early last year, after a friend recommended the salon as a safe space for queer people. As a trans & genderqueer person, I love that the salon is welcoming and inclusive. Frankie is friendly and very accepting and cuts my hair however I want it, while making helpful suggestions. We chat about various things and I look forward to my regular visits! They have clearly thought about making it a safe and inclusive space, for example clients can book barbers or hairdressers regardless of their gender, just going by their needs. The salon is bright and often busy, but there are quiet and private areas available for those who need it. I'd recommend this salon to all my trans (and non-trans!) friends.
I have been going to Frankie for about a year now and she never disappoints! She has managed to get my hair from dry, damaged and a bit of a mess, to healthy and shiny while still achieving the colour I love! On top of all that she manages to cut it in a way that suits my very curly hair whether I’m wearing it natural or straight. All the staff in the salon are lovely and I always feel very welcome. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Voodou is possibly the best salon I’ve ever been to. I’ve tried a few others across the city but nothing hits as good as here. From the welcoming staff to the environment, always making me feel welcome, safe and cared for - it’s a breath of fresh air. Frankie is an absolute goddess in the hair care world and always makes me feel comfortable in my own skin whenever she does my hair. She works with me and helps me if I can’t decide, sometimes I even let her go rogue and she nails each and every style. I chose Voodou because I'd had my hair done there years ago and was really happy with the results, so I was hoping it would still be as good as I remembered. I booked a higher-level stylist for a complete restyle and decided to put my full trust in her to do whatever she thought would suit me best. I honestly couldn't have been happier with the result. Sarah did such a lovely job listening to my needs. I ended up with a super customised version of exactly what I wanted. She kept checking in for my opinion on smaller details of the cut which was incredibly thoughtful. When I thought it couldn't possibly get any better, I was then surprised and VERY pleased that she used the exact same technique my hairdresser from back home in Portugal used to always use for me. She also gave me some tips regarding the styling and care if I wanna recreate the finish myself, what a legend! So happy I found Sarah, I will return for her because now I trust someone enough to get a haircut more often instead of once a year back home. Every one else was very lovely too, the girl that did the blow drying was such a sweetheart and kept making sure she didn't tug me (my scalp is made of iron because my mom wasn't the most patient, but still important for anyone with some sensitivity). Great experience overall, will come back for a colour as soon as I know what I want to do.

Ceyda was an amazing stylist, so kind and understanding of my wishes - I have naturally curly/wavy hair that I chose to have straightened/waves that day, and Ceyda gave me lots of recommendations on how to style/treat, and also scrunched before drying etc. so I would know how it would look when curly too. Made an appointment at Voodou after having a really bad experience in a different salon. My stylist was Ceyda who put me at ease straight away, she could see how upset I was after my bad experience and took so much time and care during the appointment showing me everything she was doing at each step to ensure I was happy and comfortable. The whole experience from start to finish was exceptional and I left the salon with my confidence back and a spring in my step. I’m so grateful to Ceyda for her care and attention and for listening to what I wanted and giving me what I needed. Went in for a consultation on the Friday and got an appointment to have my hair dyed and styled. The staff were friendly and so welcoming, I want to give a special thanks to Ceyda!! she absolutely nailed it and gave me exactly what I wanted. Even better than the reference picture I gave in. I can't recommend this salon and Ceyda enough! After I'd previously box dyed my own hair, I honestly didn't think I'd be able to get the exact colour I wanted, but Ceyda completely worked her magic. She listened to exactly what I was hoping for, explained everything along the way, including recommending products to help repair my hair and somehow achieved the perfect colour. Not only am I obsessed with my hair, but the whole experience was so friendly and welcoming from start to finish. First visit to the salon this week and I honestly couldn’t recommend it highly enough! Rene and the whole team were fantastic from the moment I walked through the door to the moment I left. I showed Rene some inspiration for the hairstyle I wanted, and she absolutely smashed it! I went in with very little volume in my hair and came out with a perm that has genuinely transformed my look. I’ve had so many compliments already, and it’s given me a massive boost in confidence! A huge thank you to Rene and the team for making the whole experience so enjoyable and delivering exactly what I was hoping for. I visited the salon on Friday for a much needed restyle. My appointment with was with Rene and she was amazing. I explained what I wanted and she gave me great suggestions. I love my new hair and wouldn't hesitate to book with Rene again.
I went in for a big chop (long hair to a shaggy mullet type thing) and felt that Rene really knew what she was doing. I trusted that I was in good hands and was very pleased with the results. Had a lovely visit to Bold street yesterday and attended to by the beautiful Rene who put right a poor cut from another salon. She was so attentive, listened to what I wanted and delivered what I wanted. For my teens first hair dye these guys were great. We've been visiting the salon for a while to get used to the environment and today they took the plunge and got their hair dyed. It took a while but we were well looked after during our visit. Jade offered some good advice in terms of how to care for the colour, she was happy to answer all my questions and was very patient! Joining the colour club gave us discount on haircare products and 50% off colour any day of the week. Really pleased with the service and the final product. Fantastic experience for my 16 yo daughters first hair dye. We were taken downstairs to a quieter area an were made to feel welcome and comfortable. We have joined the colour club which is a no brainer for repeat visits for the upkeep of the colour. Big thanks to all involved, I have a very happy teen! We will be visiting again 👍🏻🙂

Chloe did a fantastic job at fixing a botched at-home red box dye, using a colour melt at my roots and balayage to create the perfect blended red that was identical to my inspo pics. She was super friendly and professional the whole way through, and did a fantastic job with my cut and style. This was my 1st time at this salon, I was very nervous as I have had bad experience at a completely different salon in the past. The staff where absolutely lovely. 🥰 Nicole who did my hair did an absolutely fantastic job on my hair, cut and styled it exactly how I wanted it. I'm so pleased .Nicole was so lovely as well. I booked in last minute whilst I was visiting Liverpool. I arrived early and was seen almost straight away. Nicole did an amazing blow dry! The products she used were fab; lovely experience overall. Would highly recommend!

Have had two brilliant experiences. I came in with washed out pink dye which had definitely stained and left with a gorgeous blonde and brown look! My 2nd root touch up made the look even better and I've reached a gorgeous blonde! Katie was fab and the young lady with red hair gave me a lovely curly blow out which is very impressive considering I have super curly hair. Really recommend!!
Attended today after not being at a hairdressers for about 5 years. Katie was super friendly and listened to what I wanted to get done. Absolutely love the results and will be returning to the salon in the future

I honestly can’t thank Mark enough! After somebody else completely messed up my hair, I was feeling really stressed and upset, but from the moment I met Mark, he made me feel so calm and reassured. He took the time to understand what had happened and worked his magic to make my hair look SO much better. I left feeling like myself again, and I’m genuinely so grateful for all the time, care and effort he put into fixing it. Mark was not only amazing at what he does, but he was so kind, patient and reassuring throughout the whole appointment. I’m honestly so thankful I found him and would 100% recommend him to anyone. I've struggled with my self-image for a few months now because of my hair, and today i feel like a brand new person. Mark did an amazing job, the colours are vibrant and stunning, the style looks and feels really good, and he was super attentive and friendly the whole time. Had a really good time with Mark cutting my hair again. He’s great with shorter hair, he’s managed to shape my grown out buzzcut into something I really like. Good with alternative styling but I’ve seen him do some conventional cuts too. Great chats and a very friendly atmosphere.

Mark was fantastic! I'm a typical indecisive nightmare to work with, but he gave some fantastic suggestions and some really helpful aftercare advice. Next time I'm back in Liverpool I'll be asking for him by name.

From the moment of entering I was looked after. Offered a drink and the team was lovely. Mark was running about 5/10 mins behind but I didn’t mind. I was having a ball listening to someone’s consultation about hair colour. Mark was fantastic with me and probably gave the best haircut I’ve ever had. For years I’ve been going to the Turkish barbers (who have mostly done a great job) but the barbers give me gay fear. Here I felt chilled and relaxed. Mark was personable and relatable. Will definitely be going back to him.

First time customer, walk-in, wonderful experience. The lovely Mark did a super job, listening to me and doing exactly what I needed. I explained that I needed a blow dry on Monday that would last for a meeting on Tuesday while looking naturally beautiful. Mark explained what he was doing and how it would work for me, and we had a great chat while he worked his magic. The style lasted and looked as well as I’d hoped for longer than I’d hoped. I don’t live in Liverpool but visit often, and will certainly be back on my next trip. Thank you again, Mark.
After an epic bleach fail that left my hair with different levels of lightening, Mark colour corrected my hair and gave me a beautiful beige blonde! He was very thorough and both him and the girls worked as a dream team helping each other! It was a wonderful experience from start to finish!
